ABOUT US

Frida and Max Foundation is a legacy foundation inspired by the bond between one person and her two beloved cats, Max and Frida. We are committed to improving the lives of community cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), Education, Advocacy, and Community Outreach.

Our mission is to raise public awareness about the critical importance of spaying and neutering, while also championing animal welfare and supporting suicide prevention efforts. Join us in building a compassionate community where both animals and people can thrive.

DIVIYA RONEY
FOUNDER & CEO

In 2013, Diviya Roney founded Friends of Clayton County Cats in response to a heartbreaking crisis: the euthanasia rate at Clayton County Animal Control had exceeded 95%, and every community cat brought to the shelter was automatically euthanized. Determined to change this, Diviya led efforts that have since saved the lives of over 20,000 cats in Clayton County alone.

Fueled by a deep commitment to protecting community cats and reducing shelter intake, Diviya launched Frida’s Foundation in 2019. The Foundation’s mission was to prevent the euthanasia of healthy owned pets and community cats through high-volume spay/neuter, community outreach, advocacy, and collaboration. While rooted in Georgia, Diviya’s influence has reached far beyond state lines—mentoring advocates across Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, and Michigan.

In June 2022, Diviya created the Community Cat Program at Furkids and then took on the role of Director of Cat Programs. In less than three years, the program expanded across more than 28 counties in Georgia, sterilized over 3,000 cats, and provided more than 15,000 pounds of food to families and caretakers in need.

Diviya now serves as the Cat Program Director at the Humane Society of Forsyth County, where she continues to advance innovative and compassionate approaches to feline welfare. Education remains a cornerstone of her work—empowering individuals to embrace spay/neuter practices, use Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) to humanely manage cat populations, and adopt Fear Free Shelters principles to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in animals during their time in shelter care.

She has also relaunched the Frida and Max Foundation to honor the lives of Katie, Max, and Frida. Through this work, Diviya and her dedicated teams continue to promote humane, forward-thinking solutions to protect vulnerable animals and guide Georgia communities toward a no-kill future.
