ABOUT US

Frida and Max Foundation is a legacy foundation inspired by the bond between one person and her two beloved cats, Max and Frida. We are committed to improving the lives of community cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), Education, Advocacy, and Community Outreach.

Our mission is to raise public awareness about the critical importance of spaying and neutering, while also championing animal welfare and supporting suicide prevention efforts. Join us in building a compassionate community where both animals and people can thrive.

DIVIYA RONEY
FOUNDER & CEO

In 2013, Diviya founded Friends of Clayton County Cats in response to the urgent need for change. At the time, the euthanasia rate at Clayton County Animal Control was over 95%, and every community cat brought to the shelter was euthanized. Since then, Diviya’s efforts have saved the lives of more than 20,000 cats from Clayton County alone.

Driven by her passion for protecting community cats and reducing shelter intake, Diviya established Frida's Foundation in 2019. The Foundation’s mission was to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy owned pets and community cats through high-volume spay/neuter services, community outreach, collaboration, and advocacy. Although based in Georgia, Diviya’s impact extends nationally, having mentored citizens in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, New Jersey, New York, Hawaii, and Michigan.

In July 2022, Diviya launched the Community Cat Program at Furkids and then became Director of Cat Programs for Furkids. In just under three years, the Community Cat Program reached over 28 Georgia counties, sterilized more than 3,000 cats, and donated over 15,000 pounds of food to support local communities. A critical part of this work is education — helping citizens understand the importance of spaying and neutering companion cats and using TNR for community cats.

Diviya Roney has relaunched Frida and Max Foundation to continue to honor the life of Katie, Max and Frida. Diviya and her teams work to spread the message that humane, proactive solutions are the key to protecting vulnerable animals and moving every county in Georgia closer to achieving no-kill status.
